Christmas time is a great time to expand your crochet skills. There are so many small projects that you can do for yourself or gifts for other people. I have scoured YouTube and found 4 YouTube crochet Christmas Ornaments that you have to try this year!
I still have homemade Christmas ornaments that I made with my Aunt when I was a kid. I always make sure they are on my tree. I even have some homemade Christmas ornaments that I have purchased from thrift stores and such because I love the look of them.
As you may know by now, I also have an obsession with granny squares. They are the epitome of crochet items to me and there is so much you can do with them. The more I can make with them the better. I am sure there are others out there who feel the same, so I thought I would combine the two: granny squares and Christmas ornaments!
Granny square projects for Christmas? Yes! Christmas is fast once again approaching and there is not much I love more than homemade Christmas ornaments! To me, it is so heartwarming to see a beautiful Christmas tree all lit up with homemade ornaments sprinkled about. It just makes it so special. The first ornament we are going to look at is the granny STAR snowflake ornament.

You can, but that is not the ornament we are going to talk about). The ornament I have found for the Christmas tree is crocheted with a puff stitch, another of my favorites! The 3rd of the YouTube crochet Christmas ornaments is the angel ornament. I have chosen this video tutorial for you for 2 reasons. #1, it has a lot of views on YouTube, and #2, it combines a few techniques that are beneficial to learning crochet. You start the angel ornament with a circle for the head. Then you add the arms by chaining out from the circle and coming back. (A technique I recently learned and understood after making some coasters.) And finally, you add the body and dress.
I know I say you should do more than follow a video or just read a pattern, but I feel like this angel could really teach you something. Pay attention as you do it to the HOW of what you are doing.
